La Biennale di Venezia, Biennale Architettura, 20th May–26 November 2023 European Cultural Centre, Palazzo Bembo, Palazzo Mora and Marinaressa Gardens

After a sold-out springtime run in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night returned for the summer in Carrick Hill’s perfumed gardens. Featuring a multi-award winning cast with original compositions by Michaela Burger, live Renaissance lute by James Logan and picnic spreads by Tabel Catering.

The Adelaide Botanic Garden opened its gates after dark for a bewitching exploration of botanical delights. This special event series featured Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night on the Palm House lawns with bats overhead and stars above. Audience enjoyed local organic wine by Koonara Wines, while the neighbouring East End provided ‘The Duke’, a bespoke cocktail by Mothervine, the Ortolana ‘Spring Garden’ pizza by Amalfi Restaurante and vegan ‘Twelve Dumplings for Twelfth Night’ by Mum Cha.

Co-Produced by Phoenix Central Park and the University of Technology Sydney, Opus Beethoven featured UTS’ Ensemble-in-Residence, the Australian Piano Quartet. Featuring internationally-acclaimed musicians Thomas Rann (cello), Vatche Jambazian (piano) and Thibaud Pavlovic-Hobba (violin), with new writing and performance by Shakespeare South.
